Our story
Anctil Heating & Cooling has been keeping Portland homes and businesses comfortable since 1976. It all began when Paul Anctil, a skilled metal worker trained by his own father, purchased Lahodny Sheet Metal and gave it the family name — a testament to his vision of building a true family-run business.
Originally known as Anctil Sheet Metal, we started by crafting gutters, downspouts, flashings, and custom sheet metal. Just two years later, Paul expanded the company to include heating and air conditioning services, and welcomed his son Tom into the business to learn the trade from the ground up.
Tom took the reins in 1989 and led the company for over two decades before passing it on to his nephew, Mark, in 2011. Through it all, we’ve stayed true to our roots — combining deep technical expertise with a friendly, people-first approach.
Our name may be hard to pronounce (you’re not the first!), but we like to think we’ve turned that into an advantage with our longtime tagline: “Hard to say, easy to work with.”
